Peggy Anderson papers

Abstract

Peggy Anderson was a graduate of Augustana College, journalist, and best-selling author. She is known for her book, Nurse, which chronicles the working life of a nurse in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The Peggy Anderson papers contains one manuscript draft of “In These Hands,” one plaque, 48 5 ¼” floppy disks (primarily containing chapter drafts of an unidentified manuscript labeled “Dad” and computer backups), and seven published books (added to Alumni collection).

Abstract Richard "Doc" Anderson was born April 22, 1930, in Moline, Illinois. He graduated from Augustana College in 1952 after studying under Frytiof Fryxell and R.W. Edmund. He received his doctorate from the University of Chicago in 1955 under the guidance of Leland Horberg, another Augustana alumnus. Abstract Gustav Andreen was the fourth president of Augustana College as well as its longest-serving president, having held office from 1901 to 1935. Andreen was the first Augustana president to be born in the United States, to have graduated from Augustana, and to serve more than 30 years.
